(Yicai Global) Aug. 29 -- Software shares were buoyant, but sluggish real estate and insurance stocks pushed China's stock markets to a lower close this morning.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended up at 2,890.29, down 0.12 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.17 percent to 9,398.15, and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, dropped 0.13 percent to 1,623.04.

Software stocks rose 3 percent at the lunch break; real estate stocks fell 1.43 percent, and insurance shares slid 0.91 percent.
