(Yicai Global) March 12 -- Chinese civil engineering firm Long Jian Road & Bridge has won an almost INR3 billion (USD43 million) contract to build a municipal expressway in the Indian state of Bihar.

Long Jian and its Indian partner Gawar Construction won the tender from Bihar Road Development to build the 6.3 kilometer stretch of road and auxiliary roadside facilities in Bihar's capital Patna, the Heilongjiang province-based firm said in a statement yesterday.

Gawar will undertake 95 percent of the work with Long Jian carrying out the rest, the statement added, saying the deal will be settled in rupees.

The road itself will be four-lanes in parts and six in others, and include overpasses, underground passages and drainage systems, Long Jian said. Construction is expected to take two years.
