(Yicai Global) March 6 -- With sales up 32 percent annually, Mazda Motor (China) Co. set a record this year for cumulative sales volume for its brand in China, Jiemian.com reported yesterday.

FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co. and Changan Mazda Automobile Co. are two of Mazda China's sales channels. The former sold 21,500 vehicles in January and last month, up by 9 percent annually, while the latter sold 32,500 vehicles in the same period, up by 54 percent annually.

Mazda China sold 20,100 vehicles last month, a rise of 27 percent on an annual basis, for its the highest February sales volume. FAW Mazda sold 8,000 vehicles for the month and Changan Mazda sold 12,000 vehicles, up 10 percent and 43 percent annually, respectively.

"With the joint efforts of our front-line sales team in February, the company made a gratifying achievement in sales during Chinese New Year. 2018 is the Year of Dog, which means harvest. We hope that Mazda can stably develop and maintain the good sales volume at the beginning of this year to successfully realize the annual sales target of 310,000 vehicles," said Nobuhiko Watanabe, chairman of Mazda China.
