(Yicai Global) April 21 -- Ninety percent of the total area set aside for the medical equipment and healthcare businesses section of the third China International Import Expo scheduled for November has been booked already, according to its organizer.
The section has attracted nearly 60 leading companies in the field, the CIIE bureau said at a briefing in Shanghai today. The expo will also set up a special area dedicated to the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
Healthcare firms Fresenius, Bayer, PerkinElmer, and Boehringer-Ingelheim also confirmed their participation in the third CIIE today. All four companies attended the second last year and claimed to have achieved great results.
Medical device producers and drugmakers that have made an outstanding contribution in the fight against the virus and whose products have been widely used in the pandemic will have a special display area. Dozens of exhibitors from the US, Germany, Switzerland, and other countries and regions have signed up for the special area, with the contracted space exceeding 2,800 square meters.
Products related to Covid-19 control, prevention, monitoring and treatment will be showcased in the special display area. Exhibits include artificial heart-lung machine extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, ventilators, protective gear, testing kits, and detection and analysis devices, medical imaging equipment, and protective and disinfection products.
The special zone will also hold activities to discuss the latest achievements in Covid-19 control and developments in public health and epidemic control, promote effective contacts between buyers and exhibitors and foster deals, said Sun Chenghai, vice director of the CIIE bureau.
