(Yicai) Aug. 25 -- Shares of Meituan rose after the largest on-demand delivery service provider in China apologized and resolved a problem with wrong repayment information regarding users' expired vouchers.

Meituan [HKG: 3690] jumped 3 percent to HKD122 (USD15.62) a share as of 3.20 p.m. in Hong Kong today.

Users have had an issue with incomplete updates on vouchers' refund information, which has since been fixed by Meituan's technical team, according to a statement released on the Beijing-based firm's customer service account on Weibo late yesterday.

Several consumers recently said on social media that they got no refunds for various group-buying vouchers on Meituan despite the products' being refundable if requested or automatically refunded upon expiration. Some noted that the platform even displayed messages such as "Refund Successful" or "Under Meituan Review," but they were never repaid.

Some vouchers bought from 2014 to 2016 have an unsuccessful refund status despite expiring, several users have pointed out. Others have said refunds approved in 2018 were only recently credited to their accounts.

Due to the recent surge in customer inquiries regarding the issue, Meituan urgently set up a dedicated customer service team to collect, investigate, and trace orders using feedback from social media.

"The problem with delayed refunds has been resolved, and we will help users trace every order they are concerned about," Meituan noted. "Based on the order data we have reviewed, every refund transaction is traceable, and users can check their reimbursement status."

The issue with incomplete or unupdated refund information does not involve "no refund without inquiry" or "deleting orders," Meituan noted, apologizing for any misunderstandings.
