(Yicai) Jan. 5 -- Nvidia and Chinese computer maker Lenovo Group said they are cooperating on developing an enterprise-level artificial intelligence system based on the US chip giant’s leading RTX Pro graphics processing unit, and plan to expand the scale of their joint business fivefold.

Lenovo Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yang Yuanqing and Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang made the tie-up known at a dialogue on Jan. 3, on the eve of the Consumer Electronics Show and Lenovo’s annual tech innovation conference.

The pair also identified that the next major frontier in artificial intelligence as hybrid AI. Huang said that AI is shifting from generative AI to agentic AI, which means it will no longer just “answer questions” but will become an intelligent agent capable of “executing tasks.”

Yang and Huang agreed that achieving this depends on hybrid AI, which tightly integrates large models for public use with enterprise or user‑specific custom AI models. Such integration requires a powerful computing platform, which will be the focus of the enterprise AI system being created by Lenovo and Nvidia.

The two also stated that future hybrid enterprise intelligence will be integrated and applied across various industries globally, including high-performance computing, AI factories, industrial intelligence, and even robotic intelligence. Yang said these trends will bring huge growth opportunities for both companies.

Huang  noted that the new system will be “a revolutionary server,” adding, “I can’t wait to launch this product and scale it in the enterprise market.” Beijing-based Lenovo is expected to announce the technical details of the project at its Global Innovation Technology Conference on Jan. 7.

Huang noted that all companies are already using AI, every industry will be built on AI, and every country is constructing AI infrastructure, adding that Nvidia system architecture can improve AI efficiency by 10 to 15 times.

Huang also said the enterprise AI collaboration between Lenovo and Nvidia has immense application potential and growth space in the fields of industry, logistics, warehousing, and robotics.
