(Yicai Global) April 4 -- Bikelock Technology, better known as Ofo, has confirmed that a Beijing court is handling a bankruptcy petition brought against the troubled bike sharer but it maintains it is still operating normally in many cities.

Ofo has been in contact with the court on related matters, the Beijing-based firm told Yicai Global. The company apologized for temporarily defaulting on user deposits, adding that it was seeking ways to pay the debts responsibly.

The firm appeared on a list of bankruptcy petitions on the national court's website on April 2. The firm denied it would be wound up that day, adding that business was running as usual.
