(Yicai Global) May 23 -- Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has denied media reports that it will cut ties with China's Huawei, the world's largest telecoms equipment maker.

Huawei has always been an important partner, the Osaka-based firm said on its Chinese website today. It will continue to sell products and offer services to Chinese customers, including Huawei, while complying with local laws and regulations, it added.

The Nikkei Asian Review reported earlier today that Panasonic had decided to suspend supplies of certain components to Huawei following US restrictions on exports to the Chinese company.
