PBOC Tightens Banking System's Liquidity by USD11.5 Billion(Yicai Global) Aug. 4 -- The People's Bank of China withdrew CNY80 billion (USD11.5 billion) from the country's financial system this morning by skipping open market operations for a second day in a row.
The bank conducted no new OMOs to counter the expiring reverse repurchase agreements after letting CNY100 billion worth of such types of short-term lending instruments mature yesterday.
The financial system's liquidity is "reasonably ample," the central bank reiterated today.
