(Yicai Global) Feb. 11 -- The People's Bank of China withdrew CNY280 billion (USD40.1 billion) from the country's financial system today by letting some open market operations mature without replacements just a day after boosting the system's liquidity.
The central bank conducted CNY100 billion worth of 7-day reverse repos at a 2.4 percent rate. Some CNY380 billion worth of OMOs matured today.
The move is to partially offset some maturing OMOs and to keep the banking system's liquidity ample, the PBOC said in a press briefing today.
