Queclink Wireless Solutions' New IOT Product Wins AT&T Certification in US Queclink Wireless Solutions' New IOT Product Wins AT&T Certification in US

(Yicai Global) May 10 -- An Internet of Things communications device developed by Queclink Wireless Solutions Co. has secured certification from US telecommunications mammoth AT&T Inc., the former announced May 8.

The product can thus now access Dallas, Texas-based AT&T's networks in the North American market. The news boosted the Shanghai-based telecom device developer's share [SHE:300590] price 3.85 percent in yesterday's trading.

GL300MA is the new product. Developed based on the new-generation low-power-consumption IOT technology LTE CAT M1 standards, it supports both eMTC and Narrow Band-IOT communication systems, and thus the product marks the most-advanced 5G technology oriented to IOT applications, the statement said.

LTE Cat M1 is a low‑power, wide‑area (LPWA) air interface that enables IOT to connect with M2M devices with medium data rate requirements (375 kb/s upload and download speeds in half duplex mode). It imparts longer battery life and greater in‑building range than 2G, 3G or LTE Cat 1, as wireless semiconductor and module developer u-blox explained on its website.

eMTC is a low-power, wide-area (LPWA) technology standard published by 3GPP in the Release 13 specification, per information appearing on the website of global wireless development and standardization consulting firm Halberd Bastion Pty Ltd.

Featuring low power consumption and large-amount connection, Queclink Wireless Solutions' product applies in various IOT sectors and typical scenarios.

GL300MA adopts the baseband chip of US-based Qualcomm Inc. used for asset-tracking and management, such as with vehicles, cargos, shipping containers and cold-chain transport. The product is still at the short-run production stage, with its clients mainly in the US, the statement added.

Commercialization of US operators' eMTC networks is still in its infancy, so uncertainties persist in network coverage, the statement advised. The export business is also susceptible to changes in the international market environment and exchange rate fluxes.
