(Yicai Global) Sept. 11 -- Stock markets on China's mainland opened lower today as overnight US major market indexes continue to slide, indicating a worldwide economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic may run into a rocky road ahead.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.29 percent lower at 3,225.78, while the Nasdaq-like Star Market Board 50 Index, or Star 50, was down 0.03 percent to 1,279.84.
The Shenzhen Component Index started the day at 12,711.09, down 0.25 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, lost 0.34 percent to 2,474.70.
