(Yicai Global) June 23 -- Chinese authorities have ordered 10 live-streaming platforms, including Huya, Douyin, and Bilibili, to rectify after spreading vulgar or improper content.

After inspecting 31 major live-streaming platforms, regulators encouraged them to improve their content quality while strengthening host management, according to a statement posted on the Cyberspace Administration of China's website today.

The CAC will suspend the main channels of those who need to rectify until they are done. It also banned some illegal hosts from streaming.

Some of the platforms were showing pornographic and gambling content, according to the CAC. Huya and Douyu were earlier criticized for leveraging free online courses -- often targeting kids -- to promote games, the statement added.
