(Yicai Global) July 12 -- Based on a consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his American counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G20 Hamburg Summit, the first round of a comprehensive economic dialog between China and the US will be held in Washington DC on July 19, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed yesterday.

During the upcoming meeting, which will be co-chaired by Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, the countries will exchange views on economic and trade issues of common concern, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a routine press briefing.

When Trump and Xi met at Mar-a-Lago, they agreed to establish a mechanism for discussing diplomatic security, law enforcement and network security, and social, cultural and economic matters.

The two heads of state agreed to advance the 100-day plan for China-US economic cooperation under the framework of the China-US comprehensive dialog mechanism, to seek to steer bilateral relations onto a sound and stable path.

The plan covers agricultural product trade, financial services, investments and energy. The two sides agreed to prepare to hold talks on the one-year plan for US-China cooperation based on tangible results from the 100-day plan, under which progress has been made.
