(Yicai Global) June 20 -- Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People's Court today announced the first case of a crime involving the Hong Kong Stock Connect program. 

A senior executive surnamed Sang was sentenced to nine years for insider trading at a securities firm and disclosure of insider information, while the defendant surnamed Chen was sentenced to three years in prison for insider trading. Another defendant surnamed Wang was sentenced to nine years in prison and suspended for three years for insider trading.

They were fined a total of CNY25.4 million (USD368 million).
