(Yicai Global) June 24 -- Shanghai has tested a total of 8,659 samples of fresh food, as well as the related environment, for Covid-19 in the past 10 days, and the results turned out to be all negative, according to the municipal health authority.

The eastern metropolis will examine fresh food, as well as the related environments, at the city's agricultural markets and supermarkets each month, based on the latest epidemic prevention policy, Wu Jinglei, director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, said at a press conference today.

Bejing's Xinfadi, Asia's busiest agricultural wholesale market, was hit by a new Covid-19 outbreak earlier this month, and 256 new cases have been reported in the capital city since June 11.
