(Yicai Global) April 21 -- Shanghai logged no new imported or domestically transmitted novel coronavirus cases yesterday, with the eastern metropolis' total remaining at 638, the city's health commission said this morning.

It also reported no asymptomatic cases under observation in the city as of yesterday.

Nine people who were confirmed imported Covid-19 cases were released from hospitals yesterday after a full recovery, according to the commission.

Among the confirmed 299 imported Covid-19 cases so far, 100 patients are being treated, with one in serious condition, and 199 have been discharged upon recovery, the commission said.

It added 12 suspected cases, also involving people who had recently been overseas, are undergoing further tests.

Of the 339 local cases, seven have died, one is in critical state, and 331 patients have fully recovered and been released from hospital, the commission said.
