Shanghai Logs Two New Covid-19 Cases From Overseas(Yicai Global) March 13 -- Shanghai confirmed two new cases of the novel coronavirus this morning, both from overseas, taking the eastern metropolis' overall tally to 346, the Shanghai Health Commission said this morning.
One of the patients was a Guangdong province native who had been working in the United States, according to the commission. He left New York on March 9 and arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport on March 10 after a layover in Hong Kong. His family drove him home and he stayed under self-quarantine until showing symptoms yesterday, when he was confirmed to be infected at a local hospital.
The second was a Zhejiang province local. He left Bologna, Italy, on March 10 and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on March 11 after laying over in Moscow. He displayed symptoms on arrival and was sent to a designated medical institution for observation, where doctors confirmed he had Covid-19.
The city had reported eight so-called imported cases as of yesterday.
Among all cases in Shanghai, three have died, eight are in a critical state and 321 have fully recovered and left hospital. Fourteen are in stable condition and 36 suspected patients are still undergoing tests.
