(Yicai Global) Dec. 6 -- Shanghai has named tech giant Tencent Holdings as one of seven firms that will receive a license and special government support to set up artificial intelligence innovation centers in the city.
The assistance will contribute towards the development of core AI technologies, like chips, algorithms and open source platforms, and creation of new applications, the local government said today.
The six other firms are state-owned automaker SAIC Motor, SenseTime, DeepBlue Technology, Yitu Technology, Cambricon Technologies and UCloud Information Technology.
