(Yicai Global) April 16 -- Shanghai reported six more imported novel coronavirus cases yesterday, taking the eastern metropolis' total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 628, the city's health commission said this morning.

All the new additions were Chinese citizens. Three of them arrived in Shanghai from the UK, two of them traveled from Russia, and the last, a crew member of a cargo flight, came from Italy, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 114 people who had been in contact with the patients during their journeys and placed them under quarantine, it added.

The commission logged no new confirmed domestically transmitted cases yesterday. It also reported no asymptomatic cases under observation in the city that same day.

Two patients, who were confirmed as domestic cases and had been in critical condition since their hospitalization, have staged a full recovery and were released from a local hospital yesterday, per the commission.

Shanghai has confirmed 628 Covid-19 cases thus far. Among the confirmed 289 imported Covid-19 cases to date, 134 patients are being treated, with one in serious condition, and 155 have been discharged upon recovery, the commission said.

It added 36 suspected cases, also involving people who have recently been overseas, are undergoing further tests.

Of the 339 local cases, seven had died, two are in critical condition, and 330 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital, the commission added.
