(Yicai Global) Nov. 16 -- The main indexes of China's Stock Markets kept up their variegated appearances during afternoon trading.
Shenzhen firmed after the morning session, while Shanghai stayed flabby with a slight loss. Insurance was the bellwether, closing at 4.52 percent higher, while liquor and beverages also rose 3.23 percent to fall into second place.
Securities Brokers fared the worst in the afternoon's tumult, ending up 1.81 percent lower. Nonferrous metal, Civil Engineering and Energy Processing also contracted more than 1 percent.
The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.10 percent to 3,399.25 points at the closing bell, with turnover of CNY220.8 billion (USD33.3 billion), under yesterday's CNY239.7 billion.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,537.96 points, up 0.66 percent, with turnover of CNY269.9 billion, against yesterday's CNY284.6 billion.
The Growth Enterprise Index, mostly comprising small-cap companies, was up 0.54 percent to 1,878.26 points, with CNY67.01 billion exchanged, compared with yesterday's CNY77.71 billion.
