(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- Short video maker Hangzhou Ergeng Network Technology Co. has raised USD15 million (CNY100 million) in its B+ round financing, led by Yunfeng Capital and with Source Code Capital participating.

Since debuting its platform in 2014, Ergeng has made more than 2,800 videos, with these played nearly 20 billion times, per Ergeng data.

Its videos are played more than 50 million times a day, and it has equal that number of fans.

Ergeng received more than CNY50 million in first-round financing from ZhenFund and Co-Stone Capital last March and secured CNY150 million in second-round fundraising in January led by Vision Capital, with Houde Qianhai, Ether Capital and existing institutional investors, including Co-Stone Capital, ZhenFund and Oriental Fortune Capital, also partaking.

After completing its B+ round financing, Ergeng will continue to build its content marketing system in China to serve branded companies at home and abroad and become a media partner to firms, said Ding Feng, the company's founder and chairman. The firm will also set up an online video production platform and build a Chinese high-definition video pool.

As companies rely on media to promote business development, many local firms need videos to help them tell stories, said Ding. A city's video production capacity can help meet companies' need to promote their brands by leveraging media resources, he added.
