(Yicai Global) Aug. 26 -- Shares on the SSE STAR Market rose at today's close, but other Chinese stock markets all fell sharply amid foreign trade doom and gloom.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended at 2863.57, down 1.17 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.98 percent to 9,270.39 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, dropped 0.91 percent to 1,600.85.

Of the 28 stocks traded on the SSE STAR Market, 25 rose, while 3 fell.
