(Yicai Global) July 23 -- Chinese stock markets opened a bit higher today but shares on the new sci-tech SSE Star Market fell after doubling their listing prices from the euphoria of the first day of the new board's trading.

The Shanghai Composite Index started at 2,886.96, almost unchanged from yesterday's close. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.03 percent higher to 9,125.46. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, increased 0.24 percent to 1,519.63.

Except for Micro-tech (Nanjing) [SHA:688029], which climbed 14 percent, all stocks on the SSE Star Market drooped.
