(Yicai Global) Oct. 19 -- SSY Group Ltd. [HK:2005] said that its wholly-owned subsidiary has signed a cooperation agreement with Jean-Marie Lehn, a Nobel laureate in chemistry, to build a Nobel Prize Scientific Workstation.

SSY Group is one of the leading players in China's pharmaceuticals industry. It has a history of nearly 70 years and a well-known brand name. Under the agreement, SSY Group's affiliate engaged Lehn as the chief academic adviser to establish the workstation and provide services including scientific research and talent cultivation for the firm.

Prof. Lehn is a world-class French chemist and was one of the winners of the 1987 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He mainly studies supramolecular chemistry and has deep knowledge in the areas of bioorganic chemistry and biology. He developed leading drugs for cardiovascular diseases and cancer treatment.

The workstation will rely on Lehn's team and provide guidance for SSY Group to make sure that the company keeps abreast of international developments in drug screening, development and clinical research. The workstation will accelerate talent cultivation, facilitate the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements and expedite SSY Group's transformation from a follower to a leader in pharmaceutical innovation.
