(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- Smart water meter manufacturer Suntront Technology Co. [SHE:300259] plans to team up with state-owned China Telecommunications Corp.'s Henan office and a water utility to offer smart water supply services using  narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology under a pilot project in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, Suntront said yesterday.

The pair signed a three-year deal with Zhengzhou Jingkai Water Supply Co., under which the trio agree to work together to develop standards, conduct technological research, build networks, grow their businesses and explore business models for smart water supply, the statement said.

The agreement states that China Telecom's Henan branch will provide free network services for NB-IoT chips to Suntront, while the water utility will give priority to Suntront products using NB-IoT smart water supply products and systems.
