(Yicai Global) Dec. 28 -- Tang Shuangning, 63, has resigned from all of his roles at China Everbright Bank Co. due to age-related reasons, the lender said in a statement yesterday evening.

China's male retirement age is 60.

The executive resigned from his post as chairman of China Everbright Group on Dec. 12, but continued to serve its listed arm as chairman, non-executive director, chairman of the board's nomination committee and a member of the remuneration committee.

Tang has led the company through a financial reorganization and listed in Hong Kong and on the mainland during his 10-year tenure, and the bank's development soared under his direction, the statement added. He has made outstanding contributions to sustainable growth and enhanced the firm's overall capabilities, it said.
