(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- China's major internet service provider NetEase, Inc. [Nasdaq: NTSE] opened an offline sales point in a supermarket in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, which specializes in the sale of high-quality pork products produced by the pig breeding unit of the company. It is the first time that NetEase tries an offline channel, TechWeb reported.

NetEase will mainly sell black pork bred by the company, including meat filling, pigtail, pork ribs, pig elbow, streaky pork and other related products. Users can buy them via Qiongxuan app. The goods can be delivered to online customers within one hour provided that they live within 3-km radius.

"The offline channel mainly relies on self-support model at this earlier stage. There has been no franchise program," NetEase said.

"We will try to lay out more offline channels to gradually form the commercial layout that integrates online and offline channels," the company management added. NetEase is expected to open offline pork sales points in Jiangxi and other parts of Zhejiang in the future.
