(Yicai Global) May 13 -- Tencent Holdings’ cloud services unit and Aveva Group, a well-known British industrial software developer, have agreed to partner on providing traditional industrial firms with digital upgrade solutions.

Tencent Cloud and Aveva’s solutions will improve decision response times, and provide remote monitoring of production lines in office, on-site or via mobile, the Beijing-based company said in a press release. They will also enable viewing of key workshop performance, access to historical equipment data, and workflow processing and approval.

“Based on our superior capabilities and resources, we will work together to build a service platform for industrial digital transformation and an industrial enterprise digital ecosystem, help enterprises achieve digital transformation by viable, reliable and sustainable digital upgrade solutions and promote industrial internet as a new type of infrastructure,” Tencent Cloud Vice President Chen Guangyu said.

The partners will create a unified solution for Aveva Industrial Software integrating local data center, private cloud, and public cloud to enable more flexible resource allocation and respond to changing business scenarios.

Tencent Cloud and Cambridge-based Aveva will also use technologies, including Big Data, cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, to help make industrial manufacturing cost-effective.

Tencent Cloud also revealed today that it will add several more ultra-large data center clusters, with long-term planned servers will exceed 1 million units. The first batch will be in Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Hebei provinces to further meet strong demand for cloud computing resources the south, east and north of China amid their industrial digital upgrade.
