(Yicai Global) Jan. 10 -- Tencent Cloud's Heishi Data Center in Chongqing has started its operations to provide high-performance computing and technology services for manufacturing enterprises in southwest China in the latest move by tech giants to deploy industrial cloud in different parts of the country.

Cloud Physical Machine is a cloud computing product, first released in 2016, by Tencent Cloud, an affiliate of China's internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700]. It combines the host machine leasing model of traditional internet data center and the performance advantages of cloud computing platform, providing enterprises with server rental services.

China's internet heavyweights have accelerated their deployment of industrial cloud since the second half of last year. Baidu Cloud has been applied to logistics, industry, finance and other fields, said the tech giant Baidu Inc. [NASDAQ:BIDU] at the 2017 ABC summit it held last September. Alibaba Cloud, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], will set up an industrial cloud headquarters in Guangzhou, the southern Guangdong province, the firm said last November.

The top three global cloud computing service providers by revenue are Amazon Web Services Inc. of Amazon.com Inc. [NASDAQ:AMZN], Azure of Microsoft Corporation [NASDAQ:MSFT] and Alibaba Cloud, showed the 2016 annual statistical report released by Gartner Inc., a market research agency. AWS introduced its services in northwest China's Ningxia Autonomous Region, its second service area in the country, last month after it first started commercial operation in Beijing in 2016.
