(Yicai Global) June 21 -- China's tech conglomerate Tencent Holdings officially released its first artificial intelligence-assisted medical diagnosis and treatment open platform today to help support hospital information systems and achieve smart upgrade of online medical services.
Tencent has introduced its first AI-aided medical diagnosis engine to build a smart medical ecology covering diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services, the company said. The AI-aided diagnostic engine is the first open medical AI machine in China. It represents the tech giant's further foray into China's AI healthcare market.
"We hope that Tencent Miying, an AI-assisted medical imaging product jointly developed by the Tencent's AI laboratory and several other partners, will become a 'toolbox' for hospitals and medical information technology providers to help the medical industry create a 'super-brain' for next-generation smart medical services," said Chen Guangyu, vice president of Tencent.
Tencent also signed AI cooperation agreements with medical information vendors such as Kingdee International Software Group, and medical institutions including the first affiliated hospital of Xiamen University, Shandong provincial hospital, and University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen hospital.
