(Yicai Global) June 5 -- A government public service platform officially came online today that helps ordinary people use various government services with the convenience of a smartphone interface anytime, anywhere.

The program, developed by Chinese tech titan Tencent Holdings, has an "Mini-Program" that allows any users of the Shenzhen-based firm's popular WeChat messaging and payment platform to conveniently access a virtual government office to obtain more than 200 services, including applications for business licenses or personal qualifications, payment of official fees, and submission of complaints and suggestions.

The program connects the Chinese central government's 46 departments and the country's 32 provincial governments with the public, who may access any of the services these agencies provide from the comfort of home.
