(Yicai Global) Nov. 20 -- Tesla, Inc. [NASDAQ:TSLA], the electric carmaker, has unveiled its new electric supercar and second generation Roadster, whose reservation is available on its official website in China. The company plans to supply the new vehicles to the market in 2020, tech.163.com reported yesterday.

Roadster will last about 1,000 kilometers with 100-kilometer acceleration time of 1.9 seconds and the maximum speed of more than 400 kilometers per hour. The recommended retail price (RRP) of Roadster in China has not been disclosed yet. However, a prospective buyer will have to pay USD50,000 to make a reservation in the US to buy it for USD200,000. The exclusive special edition Single-row Roadster Founder Series limited to 1,000 units is priced at USD250,000.

As shown on Tesla's official website, Roadster will have a reserve price of USD200,000 in China, Tesla's China website shows, while Roadster Founder series will cost USD250,000 and can be booked at the full price. From this point of view, its reserve price in China is significantly higher than that in the US.

Tesla also unveiled its first electric semi-truck 'Tesla Semi' last Friday, but did not disclose its price. Its mass production is expected to start in 2019. However, no reservation is available in China.
