(Yicai Global) Nov. 20 -- Changshu Tianyin Electromechanical Co. [SHE:300342] has won a CNY43.98-million (USD-6.61million) bid to undertake electromagnetic research for China Airborne Missile Academy, the company said on Nov. 17, adding that it will sign a supply contract with the academy within 30 days.

The project will involve research of electromagnetic confrontation technology for future missile warfare, though the company did not disclose the exact functions of the technology it will research.

China Airborne Missile Academy is a research and development base specializing in guided weapons. It develops and mass produces air-to-air missiles and missile launch devices, ground testing equipment, airborne photoelectric devices and their peripherals, the statement said. Tianyin Electromechanical researches, developers and produces refrigerator compressor parts.

The academy's decision to select Tianyin Electromechanical shows its recognition of the company's technical strengths in battlefield technology, the statement added.

The contract's value is equivalent to 40.49 percent of the firm's audited revenue in military segments last year. The firm expects the project will have a positive impact on future performance and enhance the company's reputation, it said.
