(Yicai Global) May 12 -- A plane of China’s Tibet Airlines caught fire after it aborted takeoff from Chongqing airport, resulting in minor injuries less than two months after a fatal plane crash in the country.

The pilots of flight TV9833, which was carrying 113 passengers and nine crew, decided to abort takeoff and steer the aircraft off the runway after detecting an abnormality, according to the carrier’s report on the incident. Everyone aboard the jet was evacuated safely.

An engine of the Airbus A319, bound for Nyingchi in Tibet Autonomous Region from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, burst into flames, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The accident comes after a Boeing 737-800 operated by China Eastern Airlines crashed in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on March 21, killing all 132 people on board. The cause of that disaster is still under investigation.

Flights scheduled to use the other two runways at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport have resumed, it said, adding that an investigation into the cause of today’s accident has begun.
