Tinavi’s Surgical Robot Gets Product Certification in Canada(Yicai Global) Dec. 15 -- Beijing Tinavi Medical Technologies’ orthopedic surgical navigation and positioning robot was certified by the Canadian Standards Association yesterday which will open up the European and North American markets to the Chinese medical robot maker.
The TiRobot [version 2.0] helps surgeons accurately position instruments or implants during orthopedic surgery and is the first orthopedic surgical robot to be certified by this association, Beijing-based Tinavi said yesterday.
The CSA registered mark shows the robot meets recognized standards and is an important qualification for this product, Tinavi said. However, to truly penetrate the international market, it is still essential to get the US’ Food and Drug Administration and the European Union’s Conformité Européenne licenses.
The surgical robot can be used to operate on different kinds of spine and trauma injuries involving the pelvis, limbs and other parts of the body, Tinavi said. It had been used in more than 10,000 operations as of the end of last year.
Tinavi’s share price [SHA:688277] closed up 2.08 percent at CNY23.52 (USD3.70) today.
