(Yicai Global) June 10 -- Vendors on Tmall, JD.com and other Chinese e-commerce platforms are retailing Japanese eye drops that Canada has banned, the Beijing News reported.

Canada barred Sante FX Neo, Sante FX V+, Sante PC and other Japanese eye drops because they are for specific illnesses and may cause serious side effects, the country's health ministry said on its website in April.

But vendors on Tmall and JD.com are still selling these products. Prices range from CNY70 (USD10) to CNY100 a bottle. Some Tmall merchants sold over 30,000 bottles of Sante eye drops in a month, Yicai Global noted when checking the websites.

Tmall, the business-to-consumer site operated by Alibaba Group Holding, is talking with dealers over the issue, it told Beijing News, suggesting that it was waiting for vendors to take action, if any, in addressing the issue.
