Trade Surplus Rises 44.2% in First Three Quarters to USD290 Billion, China Customs Says

(Yicai Global) Oct. 14 -- China's trade surplus reached CNY2.05 Trillion (USD290 billion) in the first three months, up 44.2 percent from the same period last year, the country's General Administration of Customs announced today.
 

The trade gap for the first eight months was CNY1.77 trillion, up 46 percent, data released last month show.
 

China's overall trade volume was CNY22.91 trillion, up 2.8 percent for the first three quarters, including exports of CNY12.48 trillion -- up 5.2 percent -- and CNY10.43 trillion in imports, down 0.1 percent.
 

The total trade value was CNY2.78 trillion last month, including exports of CNY1.53 trillion, down 0.7 percent, and imports of CNY1.25 trillion, down 6.2 percent.
