UAE Leads Dialogue on China's Global Media Influence at BRIDGE Roadshow in Shanghai UAE Leads Dialogue on China's Global Media Influence at BRIDGE Roadshow in Shanghai

(Yicai) Aug. 4 -- Shanghai was the latest host of the BRIDGE Global Roadshow, organized by the National Media Office of the United Arab Emirates, with participants discussing China's media innovation and its role in shaping global narratives.

Chinese and foreign media executives, tech innovators, cultural and creative experts, policymakers, and the NMO gathered for the BRIDGE Shanghai Roundtable Conference to explore how China's vast market size, strong digital capabilities, and profound cultural confidence are reshaping the narrative landscape of global media on Aug. 1.

The roundtable conference was part of the NMO's Connecting Conversations series, aiming to capture experts' perspectives and insights on how innovation and cultural influence reshape global media.

China's innovation-driven media and cultural development strategies are expanding its soft power and offering the world new influence, creativity, and connectivity models, said Jamal Al Kaabi, director-general of the NMO.

Platforms and algorithms increasingly influence news, but BRIDGE remains committed to ensuring that human narratives stay at the center, Al Kaabi noted. The experts from Shanghai have added depth and foresight to our shared pursuit, which is building a more inclusive, ethical, and impactful global media, he pointed out.

The insights from the Shanghai meeting, which followed stops in New York, London, and Osaka, will be released before the BRIDGE Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi from Dec. 8 to 10, serving as a reference for the summit agenda and helping formulate practical recommendations.
