(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- Anhui Beans Park Network Technologies Co., the supplier of Beans Convenience new retailing technology, has received tens of millions of yuan from angel investors.

Beans Park Network focuses on providing self-service cash registers and solutions for unstaffed operations, and it has been researching these areas for the past two years, said Liu Qian, the firm's founder.

The company set up the first unstaffed convenience store and intelligent bookstore featuring its Beans Convenience technology in Anhui province's Wuhu city this month, 36kr reported today.

In the unattended shops, customers can use WeChat to scan a QR code or scan their face and then authenticate their mobile number before entering. After selecting what they want to buy, they need to check out with a robot cashier before an automatic door will open. The robots' motion sensors can track customers' movements. The bots can make recommendations based on a shopper's purchase history.

Beans Park Network's unstaffed bookstore boasts a gross profit margin of 30 percent to 35 percent, meaning it will likely recover its fixed investment costs within eight to 10 months.

The group started proving retail industry solutions in 2015 and began researching and developing equipment for unstaffed operations last year. Datang Telecom Technology Co. [SHA:600198] incubated Beans Park Network, which has initially realized profits.
