(Yicai Global) Feb. 22 -- Zhejiang Wazam New Material Co.'s copper-clad laminates (CCL) for printed circuit boards (PCBs) project has gone into operation and some of its products have obtained certification from well-known domestic communications equipment makers, and this will help the firm seize opportunities in the 5G communications market.

The project's first phase recently went into formal operation. It has an annual output of 4.5 million square meters of CCLs for high-frequency, high-speed, high density and multi-layer PCBs that the company's wholly-owned subsidiary built in its production base in Lin'an district, in its home of Hangzhou, capital of China's southeastern Zhejiang province, the communications equipment maker said yesterday.

The company's PTFE high-frequency CCLs for 4G/5G communications have now passed technical certification by an affiliate of Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Ltd. and been enrolled in its supplier list. The two sides also recently signed a relevant cooperative framework agreement, per the statement.

A CCL for communication that the company produced has also passed technical certification from a large and well-known communications firm, the statement said.

The project's completion and the securing of technical certification for the company's products are conducive to enhancing its overall profitability and core competitiveness, the statement added.
