(Yicai) Nov. 13 -- Shares of Weihai Guangtai Airport Equipment rose after the Chinese supplier of ground support equipment for airports received its largest single order since its establishment.

Weihai Guangtai [SHE: 002111] was trading 3 percent up at CNY9.58 (USD1.31) as of 1.20 p.m. in Shenzhen today, after opening up 6.9 percent.

Belgian GSE supplier TCR International will purchase 150 electric food trucks and 150 electric shuttle buses, as well as charging power supplies, from Weihai Guangtai for between CNY800 million and CNY1 billion (USD110.2 million and USD137.6 million) in the next three years, the Weihai, Shandong province-based company announced late yesterday. The first batch of USD12.8 million worth of electric shuttle buses is set to be delivered in the first quarter of next year.

Moreover, TCR will be the exclusive distributor of Weihai Guangtai’s above products in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, the firm added.

The value of the deal accounts for between 387 percent and 483 percent of Weihai Guangtai’s audited overseas operating income in the past three years, the company said, noting that the order will have a significant positive impact on the firm’s operating performance in the next three years, help it further explore the international airport equipment markets, and promote its expansion in the domestic high-end airport equipment industry.

TCR provides equipment leasing and maintenance, apron assistance, and fleet services for major ground service providers, airlines, and airports worldwide. It boasts over 200 airports in more than 20 countries as clients.

Weihai Guangtai and TCR first joined hands in 2013. Last year, TCR bought USD196,100 worth of equipment from Weihai Guangtai, with the purchase value rising to USD4.4 million since the beginning of this year, equal to about 1.3 percent of Weihai Guangtai’s audited operating income last year.
