(Yicai Global) Aug. 29 -- The 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, taking place from today until Aug. 31, opened its doors in Shanghai this morning with speeches from government leaders, academic figureheads and well-known entrepreneurs.

The opening ceremony is expected to reveal some of the industry's most important data points of the year so far.
