(Yicai) June 12 -- The world's first humanoid robot dealership is set to open in Beijing this August, featuring an initial lineup of 10 confirmed brands, including Ubtech Robotics and AgiBot, Xinhua News Agency reported today.
Even the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, also known as X‑Humanoid, has signed an agreement with the pioneering 4S dealership located in a dedicated industrial park in Yizhuang, Beijing's growing robotics hub. The first 10 agreements were finalized during a launch event held earlier today.
The 4S dealership will provide immersive, interactive experiences with humanoid robots, along with after-sales services. Over 100 upstream and downstream companies in the robotics industry have expressed interest in joining the initiative.
Fueled by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, China’s robotics industry is booming, with Beijing emerging as a key innovation center. Yizhuang, located in Beijing’s southeastern Daxing district, now hosts over 300 robotics companies, with the sector’s total output exceeding CNY10 billion (USD1.4 billion), according to Xinhua.
In April, Yizhuang hosted the world’s first half-marathon involving both robots and human participants. The race attracted entries from more than 20 robotics firms. Of the six robots that completed the race, Tiangong Ultra, developed by X-Humanoid, recorded the fastest time.
This August, Beijing will also host the 10th World Robot Conference, bringing together 200 robotics companies to showcase their latest innovations. Notably, the event will feature the world’s first humanoid robot sports competition, comprising 19 events across disciplines such as track and field, soccer, and gymnastics.
