(Yicai Global) May 13 -- Xiaomi has refuted media reports that claimed the Chinese electronics giant intends to start producing electronic cigarettes. 

"We will not make e-cigarettes," the Beijing-based firm said in a statement on its Twitter-like Weibo account. 

Chinese media recently reported that Xiaomi, a company that has expanded from making smartphones to home appliances and wearables, will hold a press conference on May 21 to launch e-cigarettes.
