(Yicai Global) July 11 -- Xu Ziyang, the new chief executive of ZTE, addressed the company's 80,000 employees in an internal letter July 9, saying the new management team will go all out to ensure a smooth transition and minimize its impact on business, online news outlet QQ.com reported.

The shake-up is part of efforts to appease US regulators as part of the Shenzhen-based firm's efforts to gain a permanent suspension of its ban on buying important components and services from companies in the states.

"The activation of the Denial Order has caused huge losses to the company. The new management will learn from the previous mistakes and always set compliance as the strategic cornerstone of our enterprise development. We will foster a culture of compliance, further strengthen internal control, and continue to improve the company's compliance system to enshrine it into every aspect of our daily work," Xu said in the letter.

The US commerce department announced in early July it would temporarily and partially ease the export ban on ZTE under limited conditions. The limited authorization is valid until August 1.

The concession allows continued operation of existing networks and equipment and any transactions needed to maintain and support networks or equipment, -- including software updates or patches -- under contracts and agreements executed between Guangdong province-based ZTE and third parties before April 15, per the announcement.

The grant, which also authorizes provision of similar services and support to ZTE phones, is likewise limited to models introduced on or before April 15.

Xu previously served as president of ZTE's telecom cloud and core network product line and was also CEO for ZTE Germany.
