Standard Chartered Is Chinese Linklogis' First Global Bank Investor Standard Chartered Is Chinese Linklogis' First Global Bank Investor

(Yicai Global) Jan. 10 -- Linklogis, a Chinese supply chain financing platform, has secured its first investment from a global bank, namely the UK's Standard Chartered.

Standard Chartered participated in Linklogis's C+ financing round, which is its first investment in any Chinese supply chain platform, the pair said in separate statements yesterday. They did not disclose the sum.

The two firms joined hands for the first time last February to develop new solutions in the sector that requires strict cash flow management.

The Shenzhen-based company will use the proceeds to upgrade its operations through blockchain technology. The pair seeks to expand to cross-border services.

Sharing supply chain data with big corporate buyers increases transparency and gives small and medium-sized suppliers a chance to enjoy more favorable rates, said the London-headquartered financial company.

Founded in 2016, Linklogis has so far raised USD256 million in its three rounds of financing, according to Crunchbase. Most of that came from the 2018 C round, led by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC Private. Tencent Holdings, CITIC Capital Holdings, Loyal Valley Capital, and Bertelsmann Asia Investments also took part at that time.
