Yum China said yesterday that it would fully acquire Pizza Hut in the Chinese mainland from Yum! Brands for USD1.2 billion in cash. The deal transitions the country's largest restaurant firm that operates KFC and Pizza Hut from an exclusive franchisee to sole brand owner. Yum! Brands also sold Pizza Hut outside the mainland to private equity firm LongRange Capital for USD1.5 billion.
