AI is undergoing a paradigm shift driven not by language data, but by scientific data, Wang Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and founder of Alibaba Cloud, said at #WAIC2026 today. The future is not about building ever-bigger LLMs, but making scientific data a first-class component of foundation models, he added.
