Chinese researchers have generated record 1.2-petabytes electron microscopy imaging data from 17,000 single neurons from a mouse cortex, Wu Feng, professor at University of Science and Technology of China, said at the #PujiangInnovationForum. By using advanced multi-beam technology, the team cut the process to just six months from up to a decade, opening new frontiers in understanding neural mechanisms, he added.
